Originally built in the early 1900s by Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson, The Ruins was once a sprawling mansion that served as a symbol of wealth and opulence. However, tragedy struck during World War II when Japanese forces invaded the Philippines. In order to prevent it from being used as their headquarters, Don Mariano ordered his workers to burn down the mansion. Despite their efforts, only the skeletal remains remained standing – hence its name today.
